Welcome to the website of the Southminster Presbyterian Church! I
hope that you will find useful information in these
pages about who we are. One of the best ways to get to
know us is to join us for worship on
Sundays at 9 am (Contemporary) and 11:15 (Traditional).
When I graduated from Seminary, I received a book from a friend by
William Sloane Coffin called Credo. In that book
is a powerful statement:
“The longest, most arduous trip in the world is often the
journey from the head to the heart. Until that round
trip is completed, we remain at war with ourselves.
And, of course, those at war with themselves are apt to
make causalities of others, including friends and loved
ones.”
What I pray that we are about at
Southminster Presbyterian Church is the journey from the
head to the heart. It’s not enough to say that you
believe in God and that Jesus is your Lord and Savior;
you have to know it and believe it in the deepest part
of your being. It has to be part of who you are and
what you do on a daily basis. And that is a daily
challenge for each of us.
I look forward to getting to know you and serving God together. If
we can help you to know Christ, or if you simply have
any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
